ASEAN-based Social Work Experts  

We are seeking to identify Social Work Experts based in ASEAN countries to join our roster of experts for existing or/and upcoming assignments and tenders focused on strengthening the role of social workers and the wider social service workforce in the region.

Position Type: External Consultant / Assignment-based
Location: ASEAN-based (remote/flexible), with potential national or international travel
Engagement Type: Scope of work depending on the past-experiences and type of assignment.  

Priority areas.

 

We are particularly interested in experts with a social work background and experience in one or more of the following technical areas:

  • Child protection in the context of migration

  • Case management and cross-border referral systems

  • Experience with para-social workers or community-based child protection actors

  • Experience in developing and delivering adult learning and ToT-style training (an asset)

Roles & Responsibilities.

The scope of work will vary depending on the specific profile and expertise of each consultant, and may include:

  • Contributing to the design and delivery of regional trainings, capacity-building initiatives, and other learning opportunities, including the development of content and facilitation tools to strengthen the social service workforce;

  • Supporting the drafting of guidance documents through desk reviews, role mapping, and stakeholder consultations;

  • Providing technical inputs for the adaptation, localization, and rollout of training and capacity-strengthening activities in ASEAN countries (remote or in-person).

Qualifications and Profile.

  • Technical background in social work, child protection, or related social service fields

  • Thematic expertise in at least one of the following:

    • Migration and children on the move

    • Violence against children

    • Disability inclusion in social service systems

  • Based in country

  • Excellent communication, analysis, and documentation skills
